Start your teen off right with CU Succeed.
The CU Succeed Teen Financial Network® is an innovative program
designed to help teens manage their finances and provide them with
a solid foundation for financial success.
Designed for our members age 13 to 17, CU Succeed features a quarterly
newsletter and a web
site with information and interactive tools to help teens achieve
their financial goals. You can also introduce your teen to the basics
of financial management with many of the credit union's products
and services. Checking accounts, Visa credit cards, signature loans
and more are now available to our teen members who have a joint
account with a qualified parent, grandparent or legal guardian.
Teens who already have their own account are automatically enrolled
in the CU Succeed program. If your teen doesn't have an account
yet, stop in today. Just $5 opens his or her share account and provides
access to CU Succeed and all it has to offer.
Products and services for teens
Start your teen off right by teaching them how to use the financial
products and services they'll need in the future. The following
products and services are available to our teen members -- you decide
which services are right for them:
Share Savings Account This is the first account anyone
has with the credit union. Once a share savings
account is opened with $5, your teen is automatically enrolled
in CU Succeed. They'll also earn dividends regardless of their
account balance, so they can see the benefits of saving right
away!
Online Account Access Teens can keep tabs on their account
with MetroWeb, Columbus Metro's Internet
branch. This is a free service -- all they'll need is Internet
access and a password.
Checking Account Teen members are eligible for our Metro
Free checking account. It's just $25 to open with a parent
or guardian as joint owner on the account. Once a checking account
is open, teens can also apply for a MasterMoney
Check Card and free online bill pay.
*Not available when joint owner has a Chex Systems
record.
ATM Access Get cash 24/7 with ATM access from Columbus
Metro. Our JEANIE ATM Card allows teens
to withdraw cash and make balance inquiries at ATMs everywhere.
If your teen has a checking account,
our MasterMoney Check Card gives
them access to cash and allows them to make purchases at any merchant
that accepts MasterCard. Either card is free for our CU Succeed
members.
Direct deposit Many employers can electronically deposit
pay directly to a Columbus Metro account. If your teen works for
a company that offers direct deposit,
they can contact their human resources or payroll department to
sign up -- all they'll need is their account number and Columbus
Metro's routing number, 244077226.
Education Growth Fund Certificate Parents and teens alike
can save for college expenses with our Education
Growth Fund Certificate, which pays monthly dividends at a
variable rate of Prime - 2%. An account can be opened with as
little as $250, and then additional deposits of any amount can
be made at any time. When your teen turns 18, the funds automatically
transfer to their savings account.
Student Visa A Columbus Metro Visa
card is a great way to establish credit and learn to use it
responsibly. Our student Visa offers a low, fixed rate, no annual
fee and a credit limit of $500 (a co-signer is required).
Signature Loans A signature
loan is another great way to build credit. With a signature
loan, your teen can borrow a fixed amount and pay it back over
a specified period of time. The payment stays the same from month
to month, so it's easy to budget. Signature loans up to $1,000
are available with a qualified co-signer.
Auto Loans If your teen will be buying his or her own
car, we can help. We offer auto loans
for new and used vehicles with low, fixed rates, flexible payment
options and terms up to 72 months (co-signer required).
For more information on any of these services, call,
stop in or email us today. We'll be glad to answer any questions
you may have and discuss ways you can help your teen get started
on the road to financial success.
